a little about our christmas puddings…

Thank you so much to those of you who ordered this year’s pudding with us. If you didn’t, there’s always next year and it’s never too early to get on the list.

Our Christmas puddings are packed with boozy brandy, cherries, cranberries, festive cheer, and only real ingredients, there are no rubbish or artificial ingredients used here.

These puddings are made with beef suet for extra flavour, or we do a vegetarian version, AND one that is gluten free and vegetarian too. They do contain egg and milk.

Our family puds serve 8 hungry tums, and also come in an enamel basin for you to reuse over and over again, for years to come, or we do individual puds in foil containers. No plastic here as we like to be sustainable.

We’ve been making our Christmas puddings for the last five Christmases and it’s so lovely to have our customers come back every year for us girls to be part of their big days. Nothing brings us joy like it!

Even before I had the cafe, I’ve been using and adapting this recipe for about a decade now, and it’s so good, my dad, who was the designated Christmas pudding guy in our family, stopped making them, saying that I should!

Our puddings are made in advance and allowed time to mature, which is an important part of the process, so stocks are limited to what we’ve already made. Get your orders in now to make sure you don’t miss out. Christmas pudding leftover recipes

Other than reheating it and eating it for breakfast with all the brandy butter that is… There’s no shame in the game! 
 
My parents would probably put a spoonful in their morning porridge to be honest. 
But we go through multiple Christmas puds so there’s no risk of waste in our house. 
Sorry for letting the cat out of the bag mum and dad!
 
You could make a Boxing Day trifle, just swap the sponge fingers for Christmas pud and soak them in something yummy. Personally, I think trifle is the devil’s food 😂 
Or you could soak it in some yummy booze and layer with sweet vanilla whipped mascarpone (whip some double cream until medium peaks, add vanilla, mascarpone and whatever else you’d like to flavour it with – amaretto would be a winner, and have a final flourish of a whisk to mix it together and thicken it up) – think tiramisu vibes without the coffee. Serve in a wine glass and it looks like you’ve made
 a load of effort when it actually took you five mins! 
 
If you’re up to more effort and feeling pretty fancy, a Christmas pudding soufflé is an impressive way to use up leftover pud and get those tastebuds going with something different. My dad is the soufflé king, but here’s someone else’s recipe here if you fancy a go.
 
I never have time for this, but if you’re so inclined and have an ice cream maker knocking about, make some ice cream with it! Think rum and raisin but so much more decadent! 
Again, this isn’t my Christmas pudding leftover recipe, but it might be one I’d use if I wasn’t taking a break from baking over the festive period.
