Our Girls Can story

Lockdown was the hardest time of my life as a business owner, and personally.
During one of the roughest moments, I took to sewing myself some inspirational messages to empower myself and get my mojo back. Once we were able to reopen the cafe, and we’d got through lockdowns, one particular project took pride of place in the cafe. And of course, that was the one that said ‘Girls can do fucking anything’…

Our customers loved our lockdown sewing project in the cafe so much that so we made it into merch… It’s really nice for something positive to have come from what was a stress relieving activity at the time when shit was hitting the fan.

Getting through time that really enforced that us girls can f*cking do anything, and established this as the core value of our business. We started our merch line to help spread the message, empower other women and give them a little pep talk when they need it.

We started with tote bags and tea towels, and now we have notebooks, mugs, greeting cards, prints, stickers, and postcards too. There’s more on the way – sign up to our mailing list to be the first in line when it arrives.
