There’s so much going on at the moment in the world at the moment
and so much negative press. No matter what your position on things are,
it’s all a bit much sometimes isn’t it?
So I thought I’d drop in today just to say…
YOU CAN DO ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!!
Whatever you’ve got on this week, remember that you’re loved, you’re amazing, you’re resilient, and you’ll ride through anything the world throws at you.
I’m back from my holidays now and I had the best time. It was just what the doctor ordered, some tech free time, zero responsibilities, a slower pace of life, time outdoors, and quality time with our loved ones.
I’ve been learning Lithuanian (it’s so hard!) so each time we visit, it’s easier
and I feel that bit more confident communicating with everyone.
Or at least understanding what’s going on. Ish. So it felt really good this time around.
But how bloody hard is it learning a new language as an adult?
So much anxiety to hold you back that just wasn’t there when you were younger.
We finally booked our big fat Lithuanian wedding too!
So now it’s back to work and full steam ahead with wedding planning. I’m so excited!
Lithuanian food is all about comfort to me and what’s available and in season.
Think lots of potatoes. And a million ways to eat them! We were lucky enough to stay with my soon to be in laws, and benefit from lots of mama’s cooking.
Where our family live, they grow as much as possible themselves.
It felt like we were truly spoilt to be able to spend time in the countryside and pick our own fruit and veg when we were planning what to cook for the family for dinner. There’s just something really special about home grown tomatoes that I can’t get enough of, and Andrius was happy to get in the forest and find some mushrooms. I wish I had the time to cultivate our garden with such love and care to keep us sustained through the year, but I reckon I’ve got enough on my plate without adding anything else to the mix…
I also had a day of confronting my fears… I don’t like heights, but drunkenly agreed to go zip lining. I managed more than I expected before I bowed out (maybe not so) gracefully.
And I’m definitely still scared of heights, but at least I tried, haha.
I’ve just about got through my emails now I’m back and I’m planning the rest of our year here at Nibble (I’m not sure I’m ready, but it’s soon time to plan our Christmas shop),
but if there’s anything you need, please get in touch.
I’m back and I’m raring to go.
I hope you have a great week ahead,
Lots of love, Lauren xx
